Flying U Rodeo keeps this animal care unit on hand to care for any of the rough stock, cattle or rider's horses they may become injured. Rider's keep their horses in top condition and often rodeo all year long, only breaking to visit family at home on special occassions. Their horses are fit and well cared for. The rough stock; bulls, cattle and horses are kept in top shape and condition to be ready for the events. A special thanks to Flying U for helping keep these animals well and in peak shape.

The Salinas rodeo is a two ring show. The main events, roping, bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback and steer wrestling are held in the main arena. The second arena showcasing Throughbred horse racing, team penning, barrel racing, and Wrangler bull fighting to name a few.

Saddle Bronc Riding has evolved from the ranch work of breaking and training horses. Riders are judged on foot placement, horses's bucking and synchronization of the rider with the horses movements. The ride lasts a maximum of 8 seconds.
