The Hungarian Felver Book is the primary book for the HHAA. It consists of the imported Hungarian Horses and their progeny, that were either interbred between the various groups or bred according to the standards set in Hungary before World War II. This book is the essence of the HHAA as it preserves the pre-war Kisber type Hungarian Horse. The Hungarian Sportlo Book consists of Felver horses being crossed with other European Warmblood breeds. A horse must have a minimum of 25% Felver blood to be recognized as Sportlo by the HHAA. The Hungarian Part-Bred (Fajta) Book records any offspring of Felver of Sportlo registered horses and any other horse. The North American Shagya Society is separate registry recognized by the HHAA. The Shagyas in this registry can be used as outcrosses in the Felver and Sportlo books. |
