 Equitana is the hot place to be for equine related information June 16-21, 1998. Attendance this year was 45,906. If you couldn't make it this year, our dates for 1999 will be June 10-13 again in Louisville. Equitana is a gathering spot for over 800 exhibitors from all corners of the world, including; world renowned riders, the industries top authors, publications to speakers on topics covering all areas of the equestrian world. Shows and demonstrations are an important draw for visitors to Equitana. 3 rings and numerous lecture halls showcase the many different riding discliplines, horse health care, training tips and riding demonstrations. There are two exhibition halls with booths containing live horses from different breeds, associations all intermixed with educational booths and equestrian retail stores. Some of the highlights:
Linda Tellington-Jones
Linda Tellington-Jones flew in from Canada to attend the event. She is a key note speaker at Equitana and a world renound horseman, trainer and clinician. Linda is doing daily demonstrations on the T-Team and T-Touch methods. Visitors can stop by her booth for autographs, questions and answers, to purchase video tapes and books or to find out about upcoming clinics.
Linda has been a great hit, as always. She is one of the original and true "Horse Whispers" today. Her demonstrations included teaching a young horse to trailer and demonstrating the effectivness of T-Touch methods on a green horse and demonstrating bridless riding. Marc Jacobs, webmaster of Horse Plaza and friend to Linda was seen helping Linda perform her training methods in the main hall each day.
Horse Plaza offered live Internet demonstrations and coverage from Linda's booth in the west hall. Visitors could browse through Linda's web site and post questions for T-Team.

Rod's Western Palace
If you are looking for anything for the western horse or rider stop by. Reps from Roper, Circle-Y, Healthy HairCare are on hand to answer your every question.

Horse Plaza offers viewers live demonstrations of the Healthy HairCare Internet site. Susan Harris- Author of Grooming to Win
Susan can be found signing autographs from the Fleet Street booth, Fleet Street owns EQUUS and Dressage Today. She is doing daily demonstrations on the visible horse. The horse is painted with bone structure on one side and muscle and organ placement on the other. Information about the way a horse moves and responds to the rider with regard to muscle and bone structure. Her demonstration shows clearly how the skeleton and muscles wirk in action. Susan Harris is a Senior Centered Riding Instructor and is speaking on centered riding.
She can be caught at the EQUUS booth for autographed copies of her books including the Grooming to Win, The United States Pony Club Manual's of Horsemanship, Bandaging Your Horse and her latest release- Horse Gaits Balance and Movement. We would also like to congratulate Susan Harding for being named Group Vice President, Publishing director of the PRIMEDIA/COWELS Equine Group. Who is PRIMEDIA? PRIMEDIA recently acquired the Coles publications: Horse & Rider, Practical Horseman and Dressage & CT; as well as, Fleet Street: EQUUS, HorsePlay, Dressage Today and Linda Tellington's newsletter- TTEAM Up With Your Horse. This is now the largest held group of publications targeting the horse industry. Susan will lead the efforts of all these publications.

Lynn Palm
Lynn Palm is doing daily demonstrations on the principles of dressage for the western horse and rider. She is featured 3 times a day and audiences can see a hands on approach of developing natural balance in the rider.
Her demonstrations include teaching a horse to respond to its rider using natural communication through the rider's seat, leg and hand aids. She highlights methods of eliminating bits and spurs.
